AI Strategy & Secure Deployment
Password Strength Calculator
Context
Auditors and examiners routinely ask why a given password policy — length, complexity, rotation — is "good enough." That question is hard to answer convincingly with a generic best-practices citation. It's much easier to answer with math.
Approach
Built a browser-based tool that calculates the real-world time and cost to crack a password, given variables like hash algorithm, compute power, and password composition — adjustable in real time.
Outcome
Provided a concrete, interactive way to explain encryption and password-strength requirements to boards, auditors, and non-technical stakeholders and a clear illustration of why phishing remains a far more attractive attack path than brute-force cracking. I use this in my Cyber Safety for Senior presentations to help illustrate this point.
